RECOVERY

My tears are dried up

My wounds are healed

My body’s not crippled

I could finally breathe

Though the scars are visible

And the pain shows a bit

I’m almost okay

I won’t easily quit

I’ve started to move again

And it feels great

There’s life in my body once more

Now I just have to keep my thoughts straight

I got what I wanted

Even though there were consequences

A chance to start over

This mistake was unintended
